Perhaps the most important quality in any granite cleaner is that it is pH neutral or aka pH balanced. This simply means that it is neither acidic or abrasive, as these types of cleaners are harmful to granite countertops and will etch and dull the surface over time. Cleaners that fall into this category would be bleach, ammonia, and anything with lemon or orange ingredients. Not only are these types of cleaners inherently too strong and unnecessary, they will seep into the porous surface of the granite countertop, causing the natural makeup of the stone to change. The harsh ingredients in these cleaning products will also eat away at grouting over time, so they should never be used to clean natural stone backsplashes or natural stone showers.
Being pH neutral is a basic quality that a good granite cleaner should have, but that
is only the starting point. For example, many dish soaps are pH neutral or pH balanced, but will inevitably leave build up and residue on the surface of the stone, leaving a blurry finish. While dish soaps will not necessarily harm natural stone surfaces, they will do nothing to enhance the appearance of the stone.
This leads me to the unique quality that sets Supreme Surface Granite Cleaner
apart from any other natural stone cleaner currently offered on the market: it actually
conditions the porous surface of the stone. Since it is 100% naturally derived, the conditioning agents in the cleaner fill the surface of the stone, leaving an enhanced, noticeably smoother texture with a glass-like reflection. With continued use of a natural stone conditioner, staining is less likely to occur and you are promoting the longevity and
beauty of the countertops. This cleaner/conditioner will make your countertops look
new again, in a simple no-rinse, non-toxic formula that is safe for every day use.
